PARKR BURNS
Written at 17, the night I left a dance early. This is how it always could have sounded.
I wrote this at 17. A girl I had a crush on laughed at me, so I left the dance early, went home and made a song about it.
It started as my remix of "EVERYBODY," an unreleased Ye and Ty Dolla $ign track. Back then my first verse and my hook were one long verse.
At 18 I came back to it while I was making my project Studio Poetry, and I wanted a full song. I split my verse in two, since the second half always worked better as a chorus. I posted the open verse in the Kyle Beats Discord. A rapper named Happy? (the question mark is part of the name) reached out with a fire verse. It just needed a good mix.
My Studio Poetry version was alright. It became everyone's favorite, and it stayed my most-streamed song, ahead of everything I put out after it. As I got better, that started to hurt. Hearing it called someone's favorite made the rest of my music feel weaker, like I'd wasted the effort I put into my other songs.
So I went back to my song one more time. This is how it always could have sounded. Maybe now, when someone tells me it's their favorite, it'll be easier to hear.
The download is free either way. Nothing sits behind a wall. This is only if you would rather it came to you than have to remember.
